Jany Temime Talks About Bill and Fleur's Wedding

The first and only on-screen wedding in the highest grossing film series of all time will be seen when you watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows online. Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour are set to tie the knot in the epic finale of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Fleur will be wearing a beautiful gown designed by Jany Temime.

Temime is a well-known costume designer whose other works included In Bruges, Children of Men, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. She was recently interviewed by the LA Times and she shared her thoughts about the wedding in the film. When you watch Harry Potter 7 Part I online, the joyous event will happen in the earlier part of the film. The reception will then be interrupted by the Death Eaters as they have been sent by Lord Voldemort to search for Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. Bill is the oldest brother of Bill.

In the interview, the Harry Potter costume designer shared, “The film is dark and the beginning of the really dark time, and it was the last opportunity to have something light and warm and funny and the last light tone before all the darkness. The terrible time follows. So it was very nice for us to give it the maximum. It’s like when you when you look at the picture of weddings right before the war. They look happy but there’s the edge to it, too. Like if you saw the film The Deer Hunter and they had that wedding before everything got so dramatic. They are embracing life, you appreciate the moment and you live for the moment. That was my approach to that wedding scene of ours. Everyone is trying to get the maximum.”

The wedding dress worn by Fleur Delacour is inspired the phoenix. It pays homage, not only to Dumbledore, but also to the idea of dying love. She opened up, “For the wedding dress, I wanted it to be a witch wedding dress but not a Halloween dress. The dress is white but it needed to have something fantastic to it. So there is the phoenix [motif], the bird, which is a symbol of love in a way because there is rebirth, love never dies, it is born again. So we have that in front of the dress to give a feeling of eternal love. It was the symbol of Dumbledore, too, but it is the symbol of love for the dress.”

Catch this momentous event when you watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows online.
