The upcoming live-action/CGI film is a movie adaptation based on one of the most beloved cartoon characters from the archives of Hanna-Barbera. It will be the first film development from the studio that will not be supervised by either William Hanna or Joseph Barbera. Yogi Bear started out as a supporting character when he made his debut in 1958 on The Huckleberry Hound Show. After three years, he had his own TV series entitled The Yogi Bear Show. The show ran for 33 episodes, with several remakes and spin-offs following its cancellation after years in production.

Scary Movie franchise star Anna Faris will lend her voice to Yogi’s love interest, who has been renamed named Rachel. In the cartoon series, she was called Cindy Bear. Also appearing on the movie are Tom Cavanagh, T.J. Miller, and Andrew Daly. It will be directed by Eric Brevig and is set to hit theaters this December 17.
